30 AUGUST 2007 – OMEGA DIAGNOSTICS GROUP PLC, ANNOUNCES THE ACQUISITION OF GENESIS DIAGNOSTICS LTD., AND CAMBRIDGE NUTRITIONAL SCIENCES LTD.

Omega Diagnostics Group PLC, are pleased to announce the acquisition of Genesis Diagnostics Limited and Cambridge Nutritional Sciences Limited (together “Genesis-CNS”).  The Acquisition of Genesis-CNS constitutes a reverse take-over under Rule 14 of the AIM Rules.

Genesis-CNS is a growing, profitable, cash-generative business serving the clinical diagnostics market.  Genesis-CNS supplies test kits to hospital laboratories in the UK and overseas, via a network of distributors, in 27 countries. Genesis-CNS produces 80 different test kits, plus a line of 24 quality control products, mainly in the areas of autoimmune diseases and food intolerance as well as providing testing services for food intolerance and some diseases.

23 JULY 2007 - OMEGA ATTEND ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR AT AACC EXHIBITION IN SAN DIEGO

Omega were pleased to participate at yet another successful AACC Exhibition in San Diego last week.  CEO, Andrew Shepherd, Finance Director, Kieron Harbinson and Customer Services Manager, Jane McCormack met with Exclusive Distributors from Latin America, Europe and Asia proving, once again, the importance of this busy Exhibition to the IVD industry.

Initial figures show that over 19,000 people attended this years exhibition making the 2007 tradeshow among the most visited, second only to Chicago in 2006.

1 MARCH 2007 - ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL YEAR AT ARAB LAB 2007

Once again Omega were pleased to participate at the Arab Lab Exhibition held in Dubai between 11/14 February 2007.  Our co-exhibitors and U.A.E. partners, Al Nawras Medi Lab Supplies, were our hosts and had over 40sq metres of space to represent Omega and three of their other partners.

During the 4 days our Customer Services Manager, Jane McCormack, met with many Exclusive Distributors and existing customers from U.A.E. and neighbouring markets.

We look forward to exhibiting, once again, at Arab Lab 2008.

6 NOVEMBER 2006 - EUROPEAN PATENT GRANT

We are pleased to announce that a European Patent (0994121) has been granted in respect of the Branched Peptide technology which has been exclusively licensed from the Medical Research Council (MRC).  The Patent covers the enabling technology that allows assays to be developed with resulting superior sensitivity and specificity, which are key features of any new diagnostic test.  The technology is currently being applied to a new EIA test for Herpes Simplex Virus 2 (HSV-2) and it has already shown to be effective in increasing the efficacy of other tests such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

In addition to the grant of the Branched Peptide Patent in Europe, a US Patent (5,965,357) has already been granted in respect of the specific peptide sequence for HSV-2 which means that the intellectual property aspect of this development is well covered for the future.

4 APRIL 2007 - OMEGA APPOINTS FUMOUZE DIAGNOSTICS AS DISTRIBUTOR FOR FRANCE

Omega Diagnostics Group PLC has appointed Fumouze Diagnostics (‘Fumouze’), part of the Sofibel SAS group, to act as its distributor for France. 

Fumouze will initially sell Omega’s Syphilis test product ‘IMMUTREP – TPHA’ to infectious diseases and blood bank testing laboratories throughout France. 

Created in 1963 and located in Paris, Fumouze is well established and has been active in the diagnostics sector for over 40 years. Fumouze had a turnover of 10 Million Euros in 2006 and employs 30 staff. It has a customer base of 4,200 private laboratories and 800 hospital laboratories.

Andrew Shepherd, Chief Executive of Omega said, ‘This appointment strengthens our already significant distribution network which covers in excess of 100 countries. Fumouze is a well established company with a successful field-based sales force. This, together with the ability to promote additional products from the Omega range, makes Fumouze an excellent partner for success in France’.
